Ask yourself this....

I was talking to a woman the other day about her weight loss struggle.

In her words, she’s been doing “all the things.”

  • She’s a vegetarian.

  • She doesn’t eat processed food.

  • She does yoga.

  • She walks multiple times a week.

  • Her stress and sleep are good.

After she tells me that the weight won’t come off and lists off everything she’s doing, she looks at me and asks “Is that good?”

What she’s really asking is “shouldn’t this be enough?”

And I answered her by asking, “Is it working?”

Listen, it’s tempting to think there is a right way to lose weight. Or that you can do exactly what your friend/neighbor/sister/coworker is doing and get the same results.

But it doesn’t work that way. Every single body is different and responds differently depending on the stimulus.

Are there some basics that get results for most folks? Of course!

But that doesn’t mean it will look exactly the same for everyone.

When you look at what you’re doing, remove the emotion (as best you can), and assess the results you are getting.

It doesn’t matter what you are doing, if it’s not getting you the results you desire, you need to change up the plan. (With the caveat, make sure you’re giving the plan enough time to give you results)
